Have you ever tried a tomato pie? If you haven’t you should give it a shot now! Check it out.

You’ll Need:

1 9 inch pie shell.
½ chopped yellow or red onion.
3-4 tomatoes cut in half, squeezed to remove juice and roughly chopped.
½ tsp of basil.
2 cups of grated cheese.
¾ cup of mayonnaise.
1 tsp of Frank’s hot sauce.
Salt and freshly ground black pepper.

How to:

Bake the pie shell in a preheated oven to 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.

Drain the chopped tomatoes as much as you can, you can use paper towels or potato ricer.

Spread the chopped onion over the pie shell then top with tomatoes and sprinkle basil over the top.

Mix together the grated cheese, mayonnaise, tabasco, some salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Spread the mixture over the tomatoes.

Bake for 25 to 45 minutes until browned. Enjoy!

Easy, peasy and cheesy! My kids loves tomatoes, when I made them this pie, it was like christmas for them! Give it a shot and let me know what you think.
